You know a workout SUCKS when the best part of it is the runs. The workout yesterday went like this:
4 rounds for time
25 burpees (aiming for a target 12″ above your reach)
Tommy Mo gave me the insight ahead of time that this workout was about pacing myself, and that the runs weren’t that bad. Surprisingly, he was right. The runs didn’t feel AS BAD as they usually do, which was very surprising. The 4th round of burpees was by far my best round. I didn’t rest, and I just kept moving. I kept repeating to myself that “if you want to be the best, you have to be willing to go deeper into the suck than the guy next to you.”
And by the burpees in round 4, I was chin deep in the suck.
My time: 18:26. It wasn’t a horrible time, but it wasn’t lightning fast either. Even when running doesn’t suck, I’m still pretty slow. The good news is that it’s getting BETTER.
The strength work yesterday was Press 5-5-5. I banged out 25-35 and then got 2 reps at 37.2. 40kg is totally taunting me. It laughs at me every time I go into the Fort and see it on the women’s record board for Press. (shakes fist angrily)
